Tourism Businesses in Thousand Islands Close at 7 PM During Christmas and New Year Holidays

There is a ban on crowds for New Year's Eve celebrations that must be obeyed. They must close at 7 PM

The Thousand Islands Tourism and Economic Sub-agency has called on tourism businesses to comply with operational policies during Christmas and New Year holidays, which aim to minimize the potential for COVID-19 transmission.

Thousand Islands Tourism and Economic Sub-agency Head Puji Astuti stated this policy was based on the Circular Letter number 400/SE/2020 on Orderly Operational of Tourism Business at New Year's Eve 2021 and Decree number 509/2020 on the Operational Hours Limits for Tourism Businesses Toward and During Christmas 2020 to New Year 2021 Holidays.

"There is a ban on crowds for New Year's Eve celebrations that must be obeyed. They must close at 7 PM," she said, Wednesday (12/23).

She explained there would be intensive supervision related to compliance with health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

"Socialization has been done door to door since the middle of last month to business owners and tourism services, as well as through banners at strategic location. By so, it is expect to prevent the crowd that triggers the spread of COVID-19," she stated.
